19세기말 후기 낭만주의의 주정주의와 표제음악성에 반발하여 나타난 신고전주의 최고의 작곡가 스트라빈스키의 두 개의 관현악 곡. ‘뮤즈의 신을 거느리는 아폴로’는 그리스의 아폴로 숭배 정신을 담은 작품이고, ‘불새’는 디아길레프의 의뢰로 쓰게 된 작품으로 무명의 스트라빈스키를 일약 스타덤에 올려놓은 걸작.
